CHARGES FILED IN CARJACKING CASE

 

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has formally charged a man in connection with a kidnapping and a separate attempted kidnapping last weekend.

 

Cesar Escobar (DOB: 1-6-73) is charged with second-degree kidnapping (F2), aggravated robbery (F3), unlawful sexual contact with force (F4), aggravated motor vehicle theft (F4) and menacing (F5) in connection with the kidnapping of a 20-year-old woman from outside a liquor store on East Colfax Avenue on September 20, 2003.  He is also charged with attempted kidnapping (F4, F5) and menacing (F5) in connection with a separate attempted kidnapping involving a 27-year-old woman that occurred just an hour earlier at a car wash on East Colfax Avenue.

 

Escobar remains in the Denver County Jail and is scheduled to be advised of the charges against him on Monday, September 29, 2003 at 8:30 a.m. in Denver County Court, room 12T.
