MAN CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT ON A CHILD

Victim Faces Similar Charge in Separate Case

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. filed multiple charges today against a man who allegedly sexually abused a juvenile – a juvenile who, in turn, has also been charged in a child molestation case.

Freddie Ramirez (DOB: 6-16-83) has been charged with three counts of sexual assault on a child – position of trust (F3), one count of sexual assault on a child – pattern of conduct (F3) and three counts of sexual assault on a child (F4). The charges allege that between May 1997 and July 2003, Ramirez sexually assaulted a young man, who is now a teenager.

Last month, the alleged victim was himself charged as a juvenile with sexual assault on a child (F4). That charge alleges he molested a 6-year-old boy earlier this summer. His case is set for a preliminary hearing in September.

Ramirez has been released from the Denver County Jail on $15,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court, room 12T, on Friday, August 22, 2003 at 9 a.m. to be advised of the charges.
