The
Sixth Annual Globeville Community Day 2003
The Garden Place
Padres is hosting the Sixth Annual Globeville Community Day
celebration. This event is held once a year in order to bring
the Globeville community together for a day of fun under the
sun.
WHEN:
Saturday, August 9, 2003, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
WHERE: Argo Park (47th & Pennsylvania)
The event will
feature a Mexican-barbecue lunch, various entertainers and
artists and several resource/educational booths. Emmanuel
Martinez returns again this year with another mural for
Globeville residents to paint along with the arts and craft
pavilion, which will host a variety of activities for children
of all ages. The Health Clinic is providing free health
immunizations and the Denver Paramedics will hand out free bike
helmets to participants. Prizes and bilingual book in English
and Spanish will be given away.
The Aztec Dancers
and the Ballet Folklorico Tesero de Colorado will also be
returning to Community Day. This year’s talent show will be an
open mic event hosted by Shatta-I and DJ Ale Impossible. Also,
new to this year’s event, the Nature and Science Museum will be
bringing a Space Odyssey project.
