CHARGES FILED IN HOME INVASION ROBBERY CASE

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has filed formal charges against a man accused of posing as a cable installer in a home invasion robbery.

Jeff Griego (DOB: 2-13-63) is charged with first-degree burglary (F3), robbery of an at-risk adult (F3), unlawful sexual contact with force (F3), and first-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft (F4).

The charges allege that Griego forced his way into the home of a 64-year-old Denver woman on January 18, 2003 after posing as a cable installer.  Griego was arrested by Lakewood police on January 21, 2003 during a burglary investigation and faces charges in Jefferson County in connection with that case.

Griego remains in custody in the Jefferson County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court, room 12T, on February 13, 2003 at 8:30 a.m. to be formally advised of the latest charges against him.

The presumptive range for sentencing on a class 3 felony is 4 to 12 years in prison; the range for a class 4 felony is 2 to 6 years.
