CHARGES FILED IN
HOME INVASION ROBBERY CASE
Denver District
Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has filed formal charges against a man
accused of posing as a cable installer in a home invasion
robbery.
Jeff Griego (DOB:
2-13-63) is charged with first-degree burglary (F3),
robbery of an at-risk adult (F3), unlawful sexual contact
with force (F3), and first-degree aggravated motor
vehicle theft (F4).
The charges allege
that Griego forced his way into the home of a 64-year-old Denver
woman on January 18, 2003 after posing as a cable installer.
Griego was arrested by Lakewood police on January 21, 2003
during a burglary investigation and faces charges in Jefferson
County in connection with that case.
Griego remains in
custody in the Jefferson County Jail and is scheduled to appear
in Denver County Court, room 12T, on February 13, 2003 at 8:30
a.m. to be formally advised of the latest charges against him.
The presumptive
range for sentencing on a class 3 felony is 4 to 12 years in
prison; the range for a class 4 felony is 2 to 6 years.
