GUILTY PLEA IN SEXUAL ASSAULT CASE

23-year-old Melissa Todd (DOB: 4-29-78) appeared in Denver District Court today, April 25, 2002, and pleaded guilty to four counts of 2nd degree kidnapping and five counts of attempted sexual assault.

Todd was originally charged with more than 100 felony counts for her role in luring women from Denver’s 16th Street Mall and other places in the fall of 2000 under the pretense of attending a lingerie party.  Victims were taken to another location where several were sexually assaulted by a man.  Todd will be sentenced at a later date.

Co-defendant James Gipson (DOB: 11-19-73) faces trial later this year.  The trial date has not been set yet by the court.
