GUILTY PLEA IN CHILD ABUSE CASE

A man charged with allowing his children to smoke marijuana earlier this year pleaded guilty today to one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor (F4).

Jackie Ellison (DOB: 9-4-76) was originally charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor (F6), two counts of transferring marijuana to a person under 15 (F4), and two counts of misdemeanor child abuse (M2).  The charges alleged that earlier this year during his parenting time with his 6-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter, Ellison smoked marijuana and allowed both children to smoke marijuana.

Ellison is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court room 13 on February 5, 2004, at 8:30 am for sentencing.  He faces up to 3 years in prison.
