Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has filed 8 new felony cases against a man accused of a series of purse-snatch robberies against elderly women.

Hector Hernandez (DOB: 10-7-57) is being charged with three counts of robbery of an at-risk adult (F3), three counts of theft from the person of an at-risk adult (F4), attempted robbery (F5), and theft from a person (F5).

These charges, which were filed last Friday, May 2, 2003, are in addition to a robbery charge filed in January 2003 and additional charges in Jefferson County.

Hernandez is accused of targeting elderly women who had just been to grocery stores or check cashing businesses.
