WOMAN SENTENCED IN CHILD ABUSE RESULTING IN DEATH

Jamicia Hughes (DOB: 3-5-81) was sentenced today, February 28, 2003, forchild abuse resulting in death (F3).  Hughes’ 6-month-old daughter died November 14, 2001 two weeks after being left unattended in a bathtub with a sibling.

Hughes was sentenced today to 4 years of probation.  The terms and conditions of her probation include cooperating with Denver Human Services, to seek and become employed and to pay fees and court costs.
