JUVENILE CHARGED AS AN ADULT IN MURDER CASE

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. filed charges today in connection with a shooting last weekend that left one teenager dead and two others injured. 14-year-old Felix Sharp, Jr. was shot and killed; 17-year-old Lymas Gains and 17-year-old Tyler Jones were both injured in the shooting that occurred March 23, 2001 at 5556 Billings Street in Denver.

17-year-old Donald Robinson (DOB: 8-2-83) is charged as an adult with first degree murder, extreme indifference (F1), two counts of attempted first degree murder (F2), first degree assault (F3), second degree assault (F4), juvenile in possession of a handgun (M2) and two counts of crime of violence.

Robinson will be transferred from the Gilliam Youth Center to the Denver County Jail where he will be held without bond. He is scheduled to appear in Denver District Court at 8:30 a.m., Monday, April 9, 2001 to be formally advised of the charges against him.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a second suspect, 19-year-old Edward Brown, (DOB: 8-11-81) who remains at large.
