KIDNAPPER PLEADS GUILTY
A woman accused of kidnapping
a baby last summer has pleaded guilty in Denver District Court
today.
Darlene Rueda-Banuelos
(DOB: 5-25-73) pleaded guilty to second-degree kidnapping (F4)
in connection with the June 3, 2003, kidnapping of two-week
old Mauro Ramirez-Soria.
Rueda-Banuelos had befriended
the baby’s mother and took the baby while they were out for a
walk. An Amber Alert was issued and the baby was found the
next day in a home in northwest Denver following a tip.
Rueda-Banuelos is scheduled to be sentenced on December 15,
2003 at 8:30 a.m. in Denver District Court, Division 16. The
presumptive range for sentencing on a class 4 felony ranges
from probation up to
6 years in prison.
