MAN CHARGED WITH PULLING A KNIFE ON BUS DRIVER

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. formally charged a man accused of pulling a knife on an RTD bus driver in a dispute over a transfer.

Louis Bueno (DOB: 1-3-83) is charged with endangering public transportation (F3) and menacing (F5).

The incident happened just after midnight on June 20, 2003 when a passenger argued with the bus driver about a transfer, then pushed the driver.  The charges allege that the passenger then pulled out a knife and pointed it at the driver.  The driver stopped and pushed the man off the bus.  He was later located by Denver police officers and arrested.

Bueno remains in custody in the Denver County Jail.  His bond was set at $50,000.  He will appear in Denver County Court on Friday, June 27, 2003 at 9 a.m. in room 12T to be advised of the charges.
