MAN CHARGED IN SEXUAL ASSAULT/FALSE IMPRISONMENT CASE

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has charged a 49-year-old man with multiple felony counts in connection with an incident involving a former girlfriend and her two daughters.

Alford Mallard (DOB: 1-13-54) is charged with two counts of sexual assault on a child (F4), two counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust (F3), one count of sexual assault on a child, pattern of abuse (F3), two counts of child abuse (M1), and three counts of false imprisonment (M2).

The charges allege that Mallard locked the woman and her two daughters, ages 10 and 13, inside their home near 40th Avenue and Jackson Street last weekend, physically abused both girls and sexually assaulted one of them.  They were eventually able to run to a neighbor’s home to call police.

Mallard remains in custody in the Denver County Jail.  His bond has been set at $75,000.  He is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court to be advised of the charges on Monday, August 18, 2003 at 9:00 a.m.
