MOM GETS PRISON FOR

PUSHING SON FROM WINDOW

33-year old Cecelia Martinez (DOB:8-16-70) was sentenced to prison today in Denver District Court in connection with a child abuse case involving her son who was pushed or dropped from a third-floor window in 2002.

Today, Martinez was sentenced to 4 years in the Department of Corrections (prison).

Martinez was originally given 6 years of probation after pleading guilty to one count of child abuse in September, 2002.  The terms of her probation required that she successfully complete an intensive in-patient program at The Haven, a Community Corrections facility.  She walked away from the program earlier this year and was arrested for violating her probation.  She could have faced up to 8 years in prison at today’s re-sentencing hearing.
