MAN CHARGED IN WEEKEND STABBING DEATH

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. charged a man in connection with a stabbing death last weekend near 16th and Arapahoe Streets.

Blaine Mesteth (aka Blaine Killsback) (DOB: 11-12-76) is charged with first-degree murder (F1).

The charge alleges that Mesteth was involved in an argument with the victim and stabbed him with a pair of scissors.  Members of the Guardian Angels detained Mesteth until Denver police arrived.  Mesteth was arrested and booked under his alias of Blaine Killsback.

He remains in custody in the Denver County Jail where he is being held without bond.  He is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on Friday, July 18, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. to be formally advised of the charged.
