CASE FILING UPDATE 

Charges were filed today in several cases of note: 

Nathan Montoya (DOB: 1-17-77) is charged with four counts of kidnapping (F2 and F4), one count of first degree burglary (F3), four counts of sexual assault (F2 and F3), three counts of unlawful sexual contact (F4 and M1), and twelve counts of conspiracy (F3, F4, F5).  Montoya is charged in connection with the kidnapping and sexual assault of two teenage girls that occurred March 16 and 17, 2002 in Denver.  Montoya remains in custody.  He is scheduled to be advised of the charges on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. in Denver County Court, room 12T. 

Ronald Reynolds (DOB: 12-30-75) is charged with first-degree murder (F1) in connection with the murder of Albert Lucero on July 17, 2001.  Lucero was at his Denver home when he was shot multiple times.  Denver police investigators identified Reynolds as a suspect and located him in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  He was taken into custody March 20, 2002 by New Mexico State Police after a brief standoff.  He remains in custody in Albuquerque pending extradition.

 William Diemert (DOB: 12-18-51) is charged with second-degree assault on a peace officer (F4) and menacing (F5) in connection with an incident at Denver International Airport on March 15, 2002 in which a Denver police officer was injured.  The officer was writing a parking ticket when the driver of the illegally parked car suddenly pulled away and dragged the officer 10 to 15 feet.   Diemert has been released on $25,000 bond and is scheduled to be formally advised of the charges on Friday, March 29, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. in Denver County Court, room 12T.
