CHARGES DISMISSED IN MURDER CASE
January 18, 2001

Contact: Lynn Kimbrough, 720-913-9025

A motion was filed today by the Denver District Attorney's Office requesting that charges in a case against Marvin Gray (DOB: 8-7-54) be dismissed without prejudice. The case (00F04176) involved the 1992 murder of Joseph Soliz and the attempted murder of Barbara Bobian.

The case was initially filed in November 2000 but subsequent investigation resulted in the District Attorney's decision to have the charges dismissed. Since there is currently a pending murder case against Marvin Gray in Denver District Court involving a 1975 homicide, no further comment can be made at this time.

*The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed a crime(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo. RPC 3.6
