MURDER CHARGE FILED

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has filed formal charges in connection with a stabbing fatality that occurred Wednesday, November 12, 2003.

Gregory Morris (DOB: 11-29-74) is charged with first-degree murder (F1).

The charge alleges that 25-year-old Jamila Allen (DOB: 11-10-78) was stabbed by Morris, her live-in boyfriend, during an argument in their Montbello home.   Allen’s aunt and son witnessed the attack and called 9-1-1. Allen was later pronounced dead at Denver Heath Medical Center due to her injuries.  Morris was arrested later that day at a friend’s house in Denver.

Morris is currently being held in the Denver County Jail without bond.  He will appear in Denver County Courtroom 12T on Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at 9:00 a.m. to be advised of the charges.
