ADDITIONAL CHARGES FILED
AGAINST SALAZAR-RIVASPLATA

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. filed a second case against
Erick Salazar-Rivasplata today, in connection with the kidnapping and
sexual assault of a 7-year-old girl that occurred late last year. The
victim had been walking to school when the kidnapping occurred.
Salazar-Rivasplata is charged with second degree kidnapping (F2)
and sexual assault on a child (F3).
These charges are identical to charges filed last week against
Salazar-Rivasplata
in a separate case. He appeared in Denver County Court today to be advised
of those charges.
He will be formally advised of the additional charges on Friday,
January 26, 2001 at 9:00 a.m. in Denver County Court room 12T.
