DRIVER CHARGED IN HIT-AND-RUN ACCIDENT

 

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. formally filed charges today in connection with a hit and run crash that happened last Monday at Wyoming Place and Zenobia Street.

 

Miguel Perez-Moreno (DOB: 2-1-74) is charged with vehicular assault (F4), leaving the scene of an accident (F5), driving under the influence (M) and driving under the influence with excessive alcohol content (M).

 

Perez-Moreno is suspected of running a stop sign, hitting an SUV and then driving away on the evening of June 23, 2003. A 10-year-old girl was ejected from the front passenger seat of the SUV and suffered serious bodily injury.

 

He is being held in the Denver County Jail on $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court, room 12T, on Monday, June 30, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. to be advised of the charges.
