PERJURY REVIEW COMPLETED

The Denver District Attorney’s Office has completed a review of perjury allegations against a Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy and a Drug Enforcement Agency officer.  Assistant District Attorney Chuck Lepley conducted the review after being appointed special prosecutor.  The case involved the testimony of Deputy Jeff Grimwood and Agent Kyle Brannon in an Arapahoe County District Court case involving Bill Romanowski.

During the course of the review, hundreds of pages of testimony and documentation from the case were examined.  The conclusion is that, under applicable Colorado law, no criminal charges are fileable against the officers.  While there are some inconsistencies in the testimony given in different hearings held months apart, the conduct does not rise to the level of provable criminal perjury.
