ONE CHARGED IN
FATAL RACING CRASH
Denver District
Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. filed formal charges today against a
man in connection with last Thursday’s death of a pedestrian in
a hit-and-run incident. 48-year-old Kimball Walls of Englewood
was crossing Federal Boulevard near Evans Avenue when he was
struck by two vehicles on August 15, 2002.
Hoan Pham (DOB:
8-10-83) is charged with vehicular homicide (F4),
leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death (F4),
reckless driving, driving under revocation, speed contest,
and no proof of insurance.
Although both
vehicles fled the scene, Pham was arrested nearby a short time
after the crash. The driver of the second vehicle, a blue
Honda, has not been located or arrested at this time. Anyone
with information about this vehicle should contact Denver Police
at 720-913-6011.
Pham is tentatively
scheduled to appear in Denver County Court, room 12T, to be
advised of the charges on Thursday, August 22, 2002, at 9:00
a.m.
