ONE CHARGED IN FATAL RACING CRASH

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. filed formal charges today against a man in connection with last Thursday’s death of a pedestrian in a hit-and-run incident.  48-year-old Kimball Walls of Englewood was crossing Federal Boulevard near Evans Avenue when he was struck by two vehicles on August 15, 2002.

Hoan Pham (DOB: 8-10-83) is charged with vehicular homicide (F4), leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death (F4), reckless driving, driving under revocation, speed contest, and no proof of insurance

Although both vehicles fled the scene, Pham was arrested nearby a short time after the crash.  The driver of the second vehicle, a blue Honda, has not been located or arrested at this time.  Anyone with information about this vehicle should contact Denver Police at 720-913-6011.

Pham is tentatively scheduled to appear in Denver County Court, room 12T, to be advised of the charges on Thursday, August 22, 2002, at 9:00 a.m.
