HONORED FOR WORK
Denver District
Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. was one of three people honored today
by the University of Colorado Therapeutic Community for his
commitment and work in fighting drug abuse.
Ritter was joined
by District Court Judge Jeffrey Bayless and Joe Stommel,
Administrator for Alcohol and Drug Services at the Colorado
Department of Corrections in being presented with the 2002
Judicial Award by Peer I and The Haven. The award was given in
appreciation for continuing support of Peer I and The Haven drug
treatment programs. The award ceremony took place at an awards
luncheon in Denver today.
Ritter was
instrumental in creating Denver’s Drug Court, which was one of
the first drug court systems in the country when it was
established in 1994.
