CHARGES FILED IN AGGRAVATED ROBBERY

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has formally charged three people in connection with a robbery in which the victim was shot late last week.

Jess Louis Barajas (DOB: 12-15-68) is charged with aggravated robbery (F3), first-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft (F4), and first-degree assault (F4).

Joseph Zuniga (DOB: 12-27-65) is charged with aggravated robbery (F3), first-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft (F4), and vehicular eluding (F5).

Marie Lovato (DOB: 4-15-70) is charged with aggravated robbery (F3), first-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft (F4), and criminal possession of a financial transaction device (F6).

The charges allege that they robbed a store in the 1900 block of south Federal Boulevard on April 11, 2003, and left the victim with a gunshot wound to the leg.  Police later captured all three after they were spotted by a Denver police officer near Alameda and Platte River Drive.

They are scheduled to appear in Denver County Court, room 12T, to be advised of the charges on Friday, April 18, 2003 at 9:00 a.m.  All three remain in custody in the Denver County Jail.  Bond for Lovato and Barajas is set at $50,000; bond for Zuniga is set at $100,000.
