ACCUSED SERIAL KILLER ENTERS INSANITY PLEA

 

Sean Hanify (DOB: 1-20-1970) pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity today to multiple felony charges against him.

 

Hanify has been charged in three separate cases and faces three counts of first-degree murder (F1), two counts of first-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft (F4), one count of first-degree burglary (F3), one count of robbery (F3), one count of first-degree arson (F3) and one count of illegal weapon possession (F5). He is being held without bond in the Denver County Jail.

 

A sanity examination of Hanify will be conducted in the next 60 days. He is scheduled to return to Denver District Court, Courtroom 17, for a status hearing on August 26, 2003 at 8:30 a.m.
