DEPUTY SHERIFF CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has charged a Denver Sheriff’s Deputy in connection with allegations of domestic violence.

51-year-old Carlos Jackson (DOB: 11-13-49) is charged with 4 counts of third degree assault (M1).

Jackson was arrested and served a summons June 17, 2002 alleging he assaulted his wife in four separate incidents of domestic violence.  The victim sought medical treatment on June 11, 2002 and medical staff reported her injuries to law enforcement officials.  The Denver Police Department’s Internal Affairs Bureau immediately launched an investigation resulting in yesterday’s arrest.

Jackson has been released from the Denver County Jail on $2,500 bond.

The presumptive range for sentencing on a class 1 misdemeanor ranges from probation up to 18 months in jail.
