CHARGES FILED IN SHISSLER CASE

 

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. filed formal charges today against a man accused of sexually assaulting two boys at his home last summer.

 

69-year-old Donald Shissler (DOB: 5-7-33) is charged with two counts of sexual assault on a child (F4), two counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust (F3), one count of sexual assault on a child – pattern of abuse (F3), and one count of sexual exploitation of children (M1).

 

Shissler remains in custody in the Denver County Jail.  His bond is set at $100,000.  He is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court, room 12T, on Thursday, June 6, 2002 at 8:30 a.m. to be advised of the charges against him.

 

The presumptive range for sentencing on a class 3 felony is up to 12 years in prison; the range on a class 4 felony is up to 6 years in prison; the range on a class 1 misdemeanor is probation up to 18 months in jail.
