PRISON GUARD CHARGED WITH UNLAWFUL SEXUAL CONDUCT

 

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has formally charged a corrections officer who allegedly has been engaging in sexual intercourse with a female inmate.

 

Clayton Smith (DOB: 7-27-69) has been charged with Unlawful sexual conduct in penal institution (F5).

 

The charge alleges that between October 2002 and May 2003 Smith was engaging in sexual intercourse with an inmate at the Colorado Woman’s Correctional Facility in Denver.

 

Smith was arrested on November 6, 2003 and will appear in Denver County Court, room 12T, to be advised of the charge on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at 9:00 a.m.  He remains in the Denver County Jail.
