Guilty plea entered in '99 murder

A 20-year-old man charged in the brutal murder of his step-grandmother in 1999 was found competent to enter a guilty plea in connection with the case today.  Jason Spivey (DOB: 1-3-82) pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was immediately sentenced to 48 years in prison. 

He was charged with killing 76-year-old Ruth Haselbush in her Denver home on February 21, 1999.  Spivey was 17 at the time and was charged as an adult.
