ANOTHER DIA WEAPONS CHARGE FILED

 

For the second time in three weeks, Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has charged a man with a weapons violation occurring at Denver International Airport.

 

Jeffrey Thompson (DOB: 2-10-56) is charged with unlawfully carrying a firearm in a facility of public transportation (F6). On July 31, 2003, Transportation Security Administration personnel allegedly found a .45 caliber semi-automatic weapon in his carry-on bag.

 

Thompson has been released from jail on $1,000 bond. His next court date is not available at this time.

 

On July 14, 2003, Lyle Scanlon (DOB: 12-8-52) was charged with a similar firearms violation. His preliminary hearing in Denver County Court, room 472W, is set for August 22, 2003 at 8:30 a.m.
