CASE UPDATES

Victor DeLoera (DOB: 11-12-72) pleaded guilty today to one count of sexual assault on a child (F4) in connection with the assault of a young girl that occurred in 1998 and 1999.  DeLoera is the father of quintuplets born in May 2001.  None of the quintuplets was involved in the assaults.  DeLoera will be sentenced October 28, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. under guidelines that require him to register as a sex offender and result in an indeterminate sentence in prison as well as lifetime parole.

Robert Buchanan (DOB: 9-12-46) pleaded guilty today to two counts of unlawful sexual contact (F4) in connection with a series of incidents in which he posed as a modeling scout to assault women.  Buchanan was accused of using the ploy to rub his body against women for sexual gratification.  He will be sentenced December 9, 2002 at 8:30 a.m. under guidelines that result in an indeterminate sentence in prison as well as lifetime parole.  Buchanan was already registered as a sex offender.

Nneka McPhee (DOB: 9-22-82) pleaded guilty today to two counts of vehicular homicide (F3) in connection with the March 24, 2002 deaths of two people who had been passengers in a car she was driving.  The accident happened at Alameda Avenue and Zuni Street when McPhee’s car swerved out of control, crossed over into oncoming traffic and crashed into another car.  McPhee will be sentenced October 18, 2002 at 1:30 p.m.
