Ecstasy Letter

A MESSAGE TO THOSE CONCERNED ABOUT ECSTASY

In the ever-changing world of narcotics distribution in the United States, and abroad, it is clear that young adults are now, more than ever, presented with opportunities to use and abuse narcotics. This pamphlet is intended to educate both parents and young adults about the realities and myths associated with the drug MDMA (Ecstasy). MDMA is a drug that is largely targeted at young adults for distribution and use. This pamphlet is not intended to be an "authority" on the subject of MDMA, but rather a tool to explain to both parents and young adults the dangers of Ecstasy use. Please take the time to talk about Ecstasy and the dangers associated with its use. Do not be fooled by the myth that Ecstasy is a "safe" drug. It is only through knowledge and communication that drug abuse can be prevented.

We thank Denver Deputy District Attorney Leonard H. Le Vine, Jr., Denver Police Lieutenant Curt Williams, Rocky Mountain HIDTA/Front Range Task Force Commander, and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration for their assistance in developing this educational pamphlet.

Sincerely,

Bill Ritter, Jr.
Denver District Attorney

Sincerely,

Chief Gerald Whitman
