There are two main prosecution divisions within the Denver District Attorney’s Office, our county court division where more than 15,000 to 17,000 misdemeanor cases are handled each year, and our district court division where more than 5,000 felony cases are handled each year.

There are some types of criminal prosecutions that benefit from a specialized team approach. The District Attorney has created special prosecution units for these areas: Economic Crime including white collar crime and elder abuse, family violence including child abuse, juvenile crimes, and crimes with gang involvement.
