DISTRICT ATTORNEY MCCANN ISSUES OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING LETTER

Investigation and Decision Re March 2018 Shooting of Steven Nguyen

The legal review of the officer-involved shooting that occurred on March 19, 2018, in the 4100 block of Albion Street has been completed. A copy of the decision letter from Denver District Attorney Beth McCann to Denver Police Chief Robert White is attached, and posted at DenverDA.org (NewsMedia) along with the investigation protocol.

District Attorney McCann concluded that the shooting was legally justified for the reasons outlined in the letter.

District Attorney McCann will host a community meeting to discuss the legal analysis and conclusion reached. The public meeting will be held on Thursday, November 8, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., in Multiple Purpose Room A, Central Park Recreation Center, 9651 E. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.
