Denver DA Files Sexual Assault Charges Against Abiye Adamu

DENVER—Prosecutors in the Denver District Attorney’s Office today charged 31-year-old Abiye Adamu with sexually assaulting a woman on November 30, 2021. Adamu is charged with two counts of sexual assault by overcoming will with a deadly weapon (F2), two counts of sexual assault by force or threat (F3), two counts of sexual assault by threat of kidnapping (F3), one count of kidnapping a victim for sex (F2), one count of kidnapping a victim with a deadly weapon (F3), one count of second degree assault – strangulation (F4), one count of menacing with a real or simulated weapon (F5), and with the sentence enhancing charge of violent crime.

This is Denver District Court case number 21CR007011 and is being heard in courtroom 5F.  Adamu will be advised of the charges against him on December 7, 2021. The Probable Cause Statement and arrest photo remain sealed.
