Denver DA’s Office Charges School Dean with Felony Menacing, Kidnapping and False Imprisonment (Rae)

DENVER—Today, the Denver District Attorney’s Office filed felony menacing (F5), kidnapping (F4), false imprisonment (M2), and prohibited use of a weapon (M2) charges against Tushar Rae (age 30). Rae currently faces charges in Aurora for an April 3, 2019, incident at 10100 E. 13th Avenue.

While investigating the April 3rd incident, Denver Police learned that on March 1, 2019, Rae was in his apartment with another individual. Allegedly, Rae retrieved a handgun, pointed it at her chest and then fired it just off to her side. For that incident, Rae is charged with felony menacing and two counts of prohibited use of a weapon.

On March 7, 2019, the victim was again in Rae’s apartment and when she attempted to leave, Rae allegedly blocked her exit. She then attempted to exit through the garage door, however, Rae is accused of grabbing her by the arm, dragging her to the front of the house and throwing her on the couch.

The case, 19CR02797, was filed in Denver District Court and Rae’s next scheduled appearance is May 1, 2019, at 8:00 am in Courtroom 2300.
