Denver District Attorney Charges Man with Triple Homicide (Kartabrata)
Denver – Bustaman Kartabrata (age 59) was charged by the Denver District Attorney’s office with three counts of murder in the first degree (F1), one count of felony menacing (F5) and one count of assault in the third degree (M1) for the shooting death of three family members including one eleven-year-old girl.
On May 23, 2019, Kartabrata entered the home of his wife’s son and family. A nine-year-old boy witnessed as Kartabrata is alleged to have pulled out a gun and shot both his mother and father. Kartabrata then allegedly chased and shot the boy’s eleven-year-old sister. The grandmother of the children saved herself by jumping out the second-story window while the boy escaped and ran for help. All three victims died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Kartabrata’s next court appearance in Case Number (19CR03876) is scheduled for May 31, 2019, at 8:30 a.m. in courtroom 5A.
