Denver District Attorney Reaches Plea Agreement with Mauricio Venzor-Gonzalez

DENVER—Convicted attempted murderer Mauricio Venzor-Gonzalez (age 24) pleaded guilty earlier this week to additional charges in a second case: one count of escape (F4) and one count of possession of a weapon by a previous offender (F6). The Denver District Attorney’s Office today announced that due to the plea agreement, this week’s scheduled jury trial was vacated.

Venzor-Gonzalez agreed to a stipulated prison sentence of four years to run consecutive to the 32-year sentence he received on June 14, 2019, for the attempted murder of a Denver police officer in case number 17CR08520.

Members of the Denver Police Department’s Fugitive Unit, Aurora Fugitive Unit, FBI Safe Street Task Force and the Denver District Attorney’s Office contributed to the successful effort to bring this fugitive to justice.
