Denver Jury Finds Angelo Swimmer Guilty of Sexual Assault

DENVER—Angelo Swimmer (age 42), owner of Colorado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu West was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault by a Denver jury on Friday, November 8, 2019.  The Denver District Attorney charged Swimmer in September 2018, (case number 18CR06708).  A jury found him guilty of both counts of sexual assault (submission against will) and sexual assault (victim incapable) which are both class three felonies.  The jury also found that the assault involved the actual application of physical force or physical violence, which makes each count a class three felony, and returned a domestic violence finding.

Swimmer was remanded without bail pending sentencing by the Honorable J. Eric Elliff on January 24, 2020, at 1:30 in courtroom 4G.
