Denver Man Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison for Multiple Armed Robberies and String of Marijuana Dispensary Burglaries

DENVER — Denver District Attorney Beth McCann today announced that Genero Zuniga has pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery, burglary of a business with the intent to steal a controlled substance, and violations of the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act (COCCA).  Zuniga was sentenced to 30 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections.

Zuniga was charged in December of 2023 in connection with a string of five armed robberies, 21 burglaries and 11 attempted burglaries, most of them marijuana dispensaries, which occurred throughout the Denver metro area over the summer and fall of 2023.

“This sentence ensures that Mr. Zuniga will be held accountable and pay a significant price for his months-long crime spree. I want to thank the prosecutors and investigators in my office, as well as the detectives with the Denver Police Department and the agents with the FBI, whose outstanding work on the case led to this successful outcome,” said DA McCann.
