Man Sentenced for Bloody Attack of 2 Others (Leon)

MAN SENTENCED IN BLOODY ATTACK OF 2 OTHERS

A 19-year old man charged in connection with the beatings of two men in March was sentenced today to prison.

Emmanuel Leon (dob: 02-19-1998) was originally charged in March with two counts of criminal attempt to commit murder in the first degree (F2), two counts of assault in the first degree (F3), and one count of assault in the third degree (M1).  Leon pleaded guilty in October to an added count of first degree assault-serious bodily injury (F3) and was sentenced today to 24 years in prison.

In the early morning hours of March 20, 2017, Leon assaulted two individuals in the parking lot located behind two restaurants at or near 1423 S. Federal Boulevard.  At least one of the victims was asleep when he was awakened by kicks to his head.  The victim managed to flag down a Denver police officer, who upon investigation of the area found a second, unconscious, victim in the parking lot, along with several pools of blood.
