TWO DEFENDANTS SENTENCED FOR MURDER IN HOME INVASION

3rd Defendant Remains Charged

Two of three people charged with murder in connection with a May 2017 burglary have been sentenced to prison.

Demond Hamilton (dob: 06-01-1996), was convicted as charged on October 29 after a six-day jury trial of one count of felony murder (F1), two counts of first degree burglary-assault/menace, -weapon (F3), and four counts of violent crime (sentence enhancers).  He was sentenced last Friday to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Keione Clark (dob: 07-29-1998) pleaded guilty in July to one count of second degree murder (F2).  He was sentenced last Friday to 45 years in prison.

Co-defendant DMarco Blake (dob: 09-22-1999), is charged as an adult in District Court with one count of murder in the first degree-after deliberation (F1), one count of felony murder (F1), two counts of first degree burglary-assault/menace, -weapon (F3), and four counts of violent crime (sentence enhancers). He was arrested in California last May on a warrant issued for his arrest in connection with the Denver charges filed against him.  He was extradited back to Colorado on October 4, had his first court appearance on October 19, and a preliminary and reverse transfer hearing is scheduled to begin on March 19, 2019.  Blake is in custody in the Denver city jail.

Hamilton, Clark, and Blake were all charged last May in the May 16, 2017, death of 27-year-old Timothy Anderson, who was killed in his home in the 3900 block of S. Spruce Street that the defendants were allegedly burglarizing.
