MAN CHARGED IN STABBING DEATH OF CO-WORKER

Denver District Attorney Beth McCann has formally charged a man in the stabbing death of a co-worker.

Dawaune Ellis (dob: 01/23/1994) is charged with one count of murder in the first degree (F1) and one count of possession of a weapon by previous offender (F5).  He was arrested on April 11 and the charges were direct-filed in Denver District Court today.

The charges allege that on April 5, 2018, the defendant fatally stabbed 28-year-old Anthony Miles-Hollis at the Sysco of Denver food distribution warehouse at 5000 North Beeler Street and then fled. Prior to the stabbing, Ellis allegedly had punched and/or choked Mr. Anthony-Hollis.

The defendant’s first court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
