Denver Jury Finds Ryan Ashland Guilty in PT’s Showclub Murder

DENVER— On April 28, 2019, Ryan Ashland (currently 44-years-old) attacked four people with a baseball bat at PT’s Showclub in Denver. Four victims were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. Unfortunately, Mr. Wendell Janis (age 56) did not survive his injuries. Three other victims did survive the attack.

Prosecutors with the Denver DA’s Office announced the filing of charges against Ashland in May 2019. Yesterday, after deliberating for approximately one hour, a Denver jury found Ashland guilty of all charges: two counts of first degree murder (F1), one count of attempted murder (F2), one count of first-degree assault (F3), two counts of second-degree assault (F4), one count of burglary (F3), one count of felony menacing (F5) and two counts committing a violent crime using a real or simulated weapon which is a sentence enhancer.
